Mission
Pembroke Pines Charter High School, in collaboration with students, parents, and the community, aims to foster a culture of active and resourceful lifelong learners. Through efforts unified in direction, yet diverse in approach and instruction, we endeavor to provide a challenging, supportive environment that cultivates intellectual growth, social awareness, and personal responsibility.
School
Pembroke Pines Charter High School is a public charter college preparatory high school owned and operated by the City of Pembroke Pines, Florida. Currently, there are 1700 students in grades nine through twelve. The City of Pembroke Pines borrowed Thomas Jefferson’s concept of an Academic Village and transformed the campus into a cultural and intellectual hub, incorporating partnerships with the Broward County Library System, Broward Community College, Florida International University, and the City Department of Parks and Recreation.
These partnerships afford our students a state-of-the-art library, dual-enrollment opportunities, a community theater auditorium, and outstanding athletic facilities.
Accreditation
Accreditation is by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Faculty
The school has a professional teaching staff of 88. The entire teaching faculty holds state certification and 43.1% hold advanced degrees.
Curriculum
Students in Grades 9-12 follow a college preparatory curriculum and are required to meet all the requirements for a standard Florida diploma.
Advanced Placement
Advanced Placement courses are offered through the College Board Advanced Placement Program in Biology, Calculus AB, Chemistry, English Language, English Literature, Psychology, Physics C, Spanish Language, Spanish Literature, Statistics, Studio Art, United States Government & Politics, United States History and World History. All students enrolled in AP courses are required to take AP exams.

All courses are included in the Grade Point Average (GPA). Some courses are weighted reflecting their challenging academic requirements. Cumulative GPA begins in Grade 9 and is indicated on the transcript. Students are ranked.
