Biography:

Mr. Daugherty received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Iowa in 1983, and his Masters from the University of Miami in 1997. His musical experiences are vast.

He had a family band starting when he was in Junior High School. The band played at YMCA dances, school dances, and private parties. Mr. Daugherty started college as an engineering major, but was spending so much time in the band room, he switched his major to music. He was highly involved with the drum and bugle corps activity for many years, and for two years was the director of The Emerald Knights Drum and Bugle Corps in Cedar Rapids , Iowa .

After graduating college, he played piano for a touring band that played at Caesar’s Palaces throughout the United States and Canada .

He was the staff arranger for the Cedar Rapids Symphony for five years, and at the same time was the leader of a “Blues Brothers” style rhythm and blues band.
